Creating Your Own Halloween Masks
Instead of buying expensive masks for Halloween from your local stores, you and your family can have an enjoyable day creating and designing your own. Here’s a simple but very useful guide on how to create your own papier-mâché Halloween mask.
First, find a good spot and assemble necessary supplies such as paper and pencils, potter's or earth-dug clay, plastic wrap, newspapers,
flour, water, mixing container, cardboard, scissors etc. Make sure
everything is in place.
Use the paper and pencils to sketch some ghoulish looking faces that would go along with the occasion. After the sketching is done, use an upside-down oval bowl covered with plastic wrap for the mask mold, or you can just shape clay over the containers and build the face.
Let the earthen material dry long enough to become firm, once you have formed the facial features. Cover the mold with a close-fitting skin of plastic wrap to make sure that the finished masks won't stick to the clay.
After the mold is done, mix up a batch of flour and water paste by
half-filling a large container with water and working flour into the
liquid until the goo attains the steadiness of cream soup. Also prepare a supply of torn strips of newspaper, about 3/4" to 1 "wide.
In order to construct the actual masks, simply dip strips of paper, one at a time in the flour/water mixture. Pull each piece between two
fingers to wipe off any excess goo, and then lay the saturated newsprint on the clay form, making sure that the wet paper conforms as closely as possible to the mold.
Normally, six to ten layers of papier-mâché will make a sturdy, yet
lightweight mask. The finished mask will also be stronger if the
separate layers are smoothed on in different directions.
After the molds are completely covered, set out the faces in the sun to dry. After the faces are completely dry, trim the edges of each mask and cut out the nose and mouth openings.
The last and most important task of creating your own Halloween mask is to decorate the face with paint. Creativity is important here. Bright, contrasting colors can give your mask a really ghoulish look especially if you use glow-in-the-dark paint or markers.

A Halloween Party Planning checklist is a great option when throwing a Halloween party. First, you need to make a list of the guest you would like to attend. Then, send out invitations. It is always good to make a checklist for the grocery list for food and beverages. You then can decorate the day before and the day of the party. Make sure you have everything set so you can enjoy yourself as well. Most importantly, have fun!
So
much fun, so little time (-; Enjoy your Hallo Eve
with Halloween Printable Games
Printable games are always available for other
celebrations. We do love Halloween but we must not
totally ignore the other stuff going on so do enjoy seasonal celebrations.
In your Halloween party planning this year, begin the haunting by either sending packaged invitations that coordinate with the tableware you're using, or creating them on your computer with themed stationery. You can also make a fun invitation by cutting out a witches hat and using it for the background for all your party info.
