A good Halloween decoration can add some real fun to the occasion. Here are some great but simple and easy ideas for creating your own Halloween decoration and props to spook-up your Halloween decor.
Halloween Lighting:
Lighting is very important if you want to create a really spooky Halloween decor. Turn your lights very low, or if you turn them off, use only candles to create a spooky glow.
Halloween Silhouettes:
Along with the lighting, create some eerie silhouettes on the walls,
ceilings and floors. For example, a witch with a pointed hat silhouette can really be spooky.
Swamp Fire Centerpiece: Fill a sturdy glass punch bowl ¾ full with water and
add a few drops of food coloring. Add a small chunk of dry ice which
will result in eerie fog and “boiling water”.
Jack-O-Lanterns:
Make sure to place one or two Jack-O-Lanterns on your courtyard to give
a spooky welcome to your guests and visitors.
Spiders and Cobwebs: Spiders are creepy so don’t forget to scatter them
everywhere including your buffet table. Cobwebs can also be real fun if
they are spread in the right corners of the house.
Real-looking
Blood: Mix a cup corn syrup with 1 tablespoon of water, 2 tablespoon of
red food coloring and1 tablespoon of yellow food coloring and you have
yourself a nice cup of real-looking Halloween blood.
Shrunken Heads: Remember to place shrunken heads, made from dried apples, on the
buffet table and anyplace else your guests might be surprised. You can
also make ghoulish garlands with these shrunken heads.
Music:
Some spooky music and sound effects for your guests and trick-and-treaters
can really add to the fun. Place speakers under the tables, on the porch or the lawn.
Halloween Food Decorating Ideas
Dead Meat

Leave an opening in the stomach area to place a bowl in.
The more realistic your fake body is, the better this will be!
Cook up some sausage links in a nice red meat sauce, place them in the stomach of your dummy. When dinner is served have some scissors handy to cut off the amount of sausage links your friends will dare to eat. Throw in some pasta and meat balls for added delight.

Take Bananas, cut them in half - Stick a popsicle stick in the bottom. Freeze for several hours then dip in melted white chocolate. Push in two chocolate chips for eyes and re-freeze until set.
